Historical facts are interconnected.

Consequences of certain event are cause for subsequent occurrences.

Almost a Nietzschean "Ewige Wiederkunft"...

Isn't it a bit premature to say that Latin America will become mostly Protestant? I mean, I get that there's been growth among Protestants, but it doesn't seem that significant. And we know that many protestant people end up becoming “unchurched” after a while, often because they get disillusioned with the groups they join. So what makes you think we’re really on our way to becoming a Protestant continent?

I don't think that. If I had to guess, I'd guess quite the opposite: people will probably intensify their attachment to the religious traditions of each of the Americas. When living conditions become more unstable, the North will fall back into more radical forms of Protestantism, and the South into more open expressions of Catholicism (penitent fraternities, processions...).

We're probably relatively close to peak Protestantism in South America; the perception of radical Protestantism as a form of holiness is over, and the openly "Evangelical" criminal factions such as that of the "Complexo de Israel" in Rio, together with the many scandals (sexual abuse, pedophilia, corruption...) within Protestant quasi-clergy make Spiritism seem holy by comparison.

Please, take a look at the last paragraph: "...Catholic Latin America will slowly change into Protestant North America through Texas and California." If you are not saying that Latin America is becoming Protestant... If that's not it, then what did I miss?

I'm talking about how old-style dégradé borders will replace Modern either-or borders. In this case, the wide dégradé between South American Catholic culture and North American Protestant culture runs over most of Texas and California.
